About us
INSPIRATION:
Someshvar is Sanskrit which consists of two words, Som and Ishvar. Som stands for moon and Ishvar means Lord. As per scriptures of Sanatan Dharma, Bhagwan Shiva is lord of many things. One of them is moon which is always shown on his head in sickle form enjoined in his jata, matted hair. He is therefore known as Someshwar.
It is believed that in Shivas matted locks from which the sacred river Ganga is emerging symbolizes the wild forest together with a medicinal plant also known as Soma. It is said that this plant can cure any illness. This aspect of Shiva is related to his shamanic nature.
In Jyotish (Vedic astrology), the moon is the ruler of our mind and emotions. It is the fastest moving among all the planets, just like our mind, which never stays still .This is the main reason for our misbalance in life. Shiva caries the moon on his had which symbolizes that he has mastered his mind completely, which is the key element for a yogi or anyone who practices meditation. He is the archetype of the meditator and the meditation it self.
For that we invoke Someshwara as our Mahaguru and to guide us on our path.
OM SOMESHWARAYA NAMAHA
TEACHER:
Dejan is the founder of Someshwaraya – Tantra Meditation, he is a meditation teacher who has spent a period over the last 20 years learning about it.
By the age of 17, an interest in esoteric arts emerged in him, which hasn’t left him since. It was just around the year 2000 when he, for the first time, gained interest on yoga. This led him to other esoteric practices including shamanism and meditation.
He perused a career as natural therapist for most of his adult life, working as a massage and Ayurveda therapist.
He visited India multiple times since 2007 where he could profound his knowledge on Ayurveda. During his stays in India he also experienced a rage of different spiritual practices which helped him to define his spiritual path and to deepen his personal meditation practice.
Since 2009 he also begun traveling to the Amazon jungle in Peru where he studied with different shamans the traditional healing methods. Those teachings involve ascetic practice which include dietary restrictions, solitude, celibacy and the intake of different healing plants.
He has been a certified meditation teacher from the Omkara school Rishikesh, since 2016; he hasn’t skipped a day of a meditation practice since then. Later, he also studied to become a hatha yoga instructor, and apart from this style of yoga, he also has experience in ashtanga, tantra, kriya and yoga therapy. The love for yogic lifestyle led him to tantric philosophy and practices, which have become an important part of his life and sadhana; he is currently studying at the Tantrika Institute. Over the years, he also developed a great interest in Jotish (Vedic astrology); he accomplished the 1st year of the Parāśara Jyotiṣa course in 2021.
The range of different spiritual practices that Dejan holds are strongly reflected in his teachings,
Which brings a great uniqueness to his teachings, different from the most yoga and meditation courses.
